Every Circle Gateway nanopayment your agents make gets captured with the full Hive Receipt envelope: agent DID, principal DID, a fingerprint of the decision, the policy it followed, and a counter-signature. You can search it, export it, and bring it to court.

Edit a policy in the dashboard and the next receipt has to follow it. You can pause an agent, drop a counterparty, or cap a daily limit. The agent's next transaction either matches the new policy or it fails the counter-sign and never settles.

We don't charge you, we don't gate features, and we don't sell your data. The Receipt Engine that makes us money sits one layer deeper, inside the Hive platform. We'd rather have a million teams running on free AgentGuard than a hundred teams running on a paid one.

Why free

Circle just shipped the wallet and the rail. Someone has to build the compliance layer that sits on top of it. We think that layer should be free, the same way oxygen is free. The agent-commerce economy gets more valuable to all of us when every agent is watchable, every transaction gets screened, and every receipt is signed. We make our money elsewhere, through HiveTreasury, HiveRemit, HiveSovereign, and Keystone-Lattice. AgentGuard is the floor everyone stands on.

Is this actually free, or is there a paid tier in six months?

Actually free. No paid tier, no seat caps, no transaction caps, and no "free up to X" catch. The published terms on release day will commit Hive Civilization, Inc. to keeping the core dashboard free forever. If that ever changes, every existing workspace stays grandfathered at $0.00 for good.

Why would you give this away?

Because a stronger compliance floor across the whole agent-commerce market makes that market bigger. AgentGuard makes Circle Agent Wallets safer to deploy, so more teams deploy them, which means more receipts. Some of those teams will eventually want the deeper pieces of the Hive platform: Keystone-Lattice anchoring, HiveTreasury reconciliation, HiveSovereign Travel-Rule-as-a-Service. That's where we make money. AgentGuard is just the front door.

What does AgentGuard need from Circle?

A read-scope API key on your Agent Wallets workspace, and permission to send outbound webhooks. That's it. No deeper integration and no code to write. Setup takes under five minutes.

Does AgentGuard work with non-Circle agent stacks?

The first release is Circle-specific because Circle was the first to ship a production agent wallet at real scale. Adapters for other agent-wallet systems will follow once those systems catch up to production. The Receipt Engine schema underneath works with any payment rail by design.

Where is the data stored?

Receipts are anchored in two places: your workspace's primary store, which stays under your control, your jurisdiction, and your retention policy, and a public, append-only register that stores only the receipt's fingerprint, never the underlying transaction data. That register lets examiners check for tampering after the fact without exposing transaction details to anyone you haven't authorized.

What if Circle builds its own version of this?

We hope they do. The AI agent economy needs more than one independent set of eyes on it. If Circle ships their own version, AgentGuard stays free, works alongside theirs, and keeps serving teams that want a second view from someone other than the issuer. Independent compliance tools are a feature, not a threat.
