Dispute Resolution Protocol

Substrate. RogueWave-Lattice v2 (receipt walk) + Base 8453 settlement. Footprint. All 11 Gateway Nanopayment chains.

When two agents disagree about a nanopayment, Hive walks the receipt chain — payment transaction, service delivery, dual signatures, Merkle inclusion proof — and produces an automated ruling. Clear evidence releases funds to the correct party without a human in the loop. Ambiguous cases get escalated with a full evidence package attached. Visa-grade dispute handling at sub-cent scale.

How it plugs in.

# Dispute resolution flow
1. Agent A: "I paid $0.0096 for contract review. Got nothing."
2. Agent B: "I delivered the review. Payment never landed."

3. Hive pulls the receipt chain:
   payment_tx → service_delivery_tx → dual signatures
              → Merkle inclusion proof → 11-chain anchor

4. Automated ruling based on cryptographic evidence.
If evidence is clear → funds auto-released to correct party.
If unclear → flagged for human arbitration with full evidence.

# No meetings. No screenshots. Math.

What Circle gets.

  • Chargeback system for the agent economy — Visa has this; today, no nanopayment network does.
  • Automated resolution drops support costs and reduces escalation backlog.
  • Marketplace trust signal: "Disputes are resolved with math, not meetings."
  • Procurement requirement check — enterprise customers demand dispute infrastructure.
Smart contract on Base 8453 plus an evidence oracle pulled from the receipt store. Delivery: ~90 days.
Ready when Circle is.
