Hive Grid · The settlement rail for the AI-compute power supply chain

Generating the megawatts is the easy part. Settling them is the rail.

Every MWh routed to an AI compute load, whether terrestrial or orbital, needs a signed receipt. Capacity. Dispatch. Green attribute. Ancillary. Flex. Hive Grid issues an ML-DSA-65 signed receipt per primitive, anchored on Base, byte-match against FERC Order 2222 and the EU Network Code. Sub-second verification. Patent Pending · Filed 2026-05-08.

The Lead

SpaceX has already put 110 MW of solar in orbit across 10,000 satellites. Gen3 targets a gigawatt. The harder problem isn't generating those megawatts. It's settling them. A 1 GW orbit-to-datacenter contract needs a signed receipt per MWh: who delivered, who dispatched, who carries the green attribute. The grid that ships in 2030 needs a receipt rail that already works in 2026.

01 · Primitives · the receipts you settle on

Six signed primitives. One bearer-form instrument. Bytes match the regulator's wire.

SFU · Flex MWh

Demand-response delivered

A signed receipt for every MWh of load shed or shifted under a DR program. OpenADR 3.0 native. Pairs with a VPP aggregator.

FERC 2222 aggregation eligible
SCU · Capacity

Capacity reserved, signed

Forward-capacity commitment receipt. Names the counterparty, the delivery window, the penalty schedule. ISO/RTO mappable.

PJM, ISO-NE, MISO compatible
SGP · Green MWh

Green attribute, attested

One MWh of clean generation, signed at the meter. The green attribute is bearer-form, transferable, audit-byte-match against M-RETS or WREGIS.

EU Network Code · RED III aligned
SAU · Ancillary

Frequency, voltage, reserves

A signed receipt for every ancillary service delivered into an ISO market. Regulation, spinning reserve, voltage support: each one is its own primitive.

CAISO · ERCOT · PJM · NYISO
SDR · Dispatch

The instruction, signed at the asset

The dispatch order, the moment the operator says "deliver," gets signed and anchored. It resolves "who told the asset to do what, when" with no provider in the loop.

IEEE 2030.5 · OpenADR 3.0
SIC · Interconnection

The queue, the study, the GIA

A signed receipt for each milestone in the interconnection process: queue position, feasibility study, GIA execution. Audit-grade evidence of every regulator-touched step.

FERC Order 2023 compliant
02 · Why now

The AI-compute power deals being signed in 2026 are too big to settle with a spreadsheet.

The supply chain is moving up.

SpaceX has put more than 100 MW of solar in orbit on gen2 Starlink. Gen3 targets a gigawatt class. Sun-synchronous orbit delivers up to 14× the per-panel yield of terrestrial solar for a continuously-running datacenter. The buyers are already at the table.

Per David Holz (Midjourney) · May 2026.

The grid is hitting the ceiling.

Texas ERCOT has more than 20 GW of off-grid AI-datacenter capacity in development. Talen Energy's PJM nuclear PPA with Amazon is being re-litigated on "fair share." The questions regulators are asking right now are settlement questions: who delivered, who paid, who carries the green attribute.

The signature has to last.

A 30-year capacity contract or a 20-year PPA signed today with ECDSA will be quantum-forgeable inside the contract's audit-log retention window. Hive Grid signs every primitive with ML-DSA-65 (FIPS 204, NSA CNSA 2.0 listed), so the receipt that lands at FERC in 2034 still verifies.

03 · How it works

Four steps from meter to settled receipt.

Step Actor Artifact What gets signed
1 · Commit Generator or load SCU receipt Capacity reserved, window, counterparty, penalty schedule
2 · Dispatch ISO or aggregator SDR receipt The instruction itself: "deliver N MW for T minutes starting at H"
3 · Deliver Asset (meter) SFU / SGP / SAU receipt MWh delivered, green attribute, ancillary service rendered
4 · Settle Counterparty Bearer-form instrument Composed primitives, byte-match against FERC / EU filing, anchored on Base

Every receipt verifies in sub-second on a public chain. No provider has to be trusted to settle the trade.

04 · Who buys this

Five buyer surfaces. One settlement rail.

Hyperscaler AI compute

Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, xAI: every gigawatt of AI-compute power they sign needs SCU + SDR + SGP + SAU receipts to defend the green-attribute claim to regulators and shareholders.

IPP & nuclear

Talen, Constellation, Vistra, NRG: each PPA with a hyperscaler is being re-litigated on fair-share and grid burden. Signed primitives are the audit-grade artifact that survives the FERC challenge.

ISO/RTO & aggregators

CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, ISO-NE: FERC Order 2222 requires DER aggregation. Hive Grid is the OpenADR-3.0-native receipt rail every aggregator needs to settle into the wholesale market.

Orbital & space-based solar

SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, AST SpaceMobile, JAXA: the gigawatt-class orbit-to-ground contracts being negotiated today need a receipt rail that already works. Hive Grid is that rail.

FERC Order 2222 for DER aggregation. EU Network Code for cross-border attribute transfer. OpenADR 3.0 for dispatch. IEEE 2030.5 for asset telemetry. The receipt format does not require the regulator to adopt new software. It byte-matches what they already accept.

Scope a pilot.

One scoping call. We bring the receipt format and the settlement flow. You bring the MWh, the counterparty, and the regulator surface you need to defend in 2034.
