Hive receipted handoff · Live worked example

A design exchange, made checkable.

Three private circuit design sheets travelled from California to a circuit designer in Italy. Each exact file has a signed record. The drawings stay private. The handoff does not have to rely on memory.

01 · The records

Three sheets. Three signed fingerprints.

The sheets are not shown here because the base drawing belongs to the circuit's original design office. That is not a limitation. Permission is the beginning of provenance.

Inspect signed record

The public record identifies the exact bytes. It does not publish the drawing. Only someone who already holds a sheet can check it against the record.

02 · Check a file

Use the file you received.

Drop it below or anywhere on this page. Your browser calculates its SHA-256 fingerprint and compares it with all three signed records. Nothing is uploaded. No account is created.

Try to change it

Move one corner. Save a copy. Check again.

A one pixel edit changes the file's fingerprint. The result will say mismatch without deciding why the file changed or accusing anyone of anything.

03 · The chain

The exchange has a shape.

The source arrives. New work is created. Exact files are signed. The handoff links the set. The sequence is checkable without publishing the underlying work.

R0

Source drawing received

Its fingerprint was signed. The document was not published because it is not ours to publish.

R1 to R3

Three design sheets finished

Each exact file received its own signed fingerprint at the same recorded moment.

R4

Handoff set linked

One final signed record names the source receipt, the three design receipts, and the three file fingerprints as a single handoff set.

04 · What this changes

A design office can make every handoff easier to explain.

The receipt does not judge the design. It preserves selected evidence about the exact file, the recorded time, and its place in the handoff.

What was delivered

The exact file can be compared with the signed fingerprint even when the drawing itself remains private.

When it was recorded

The signed record carries an issued time that does not depend on an email folder or one person's recollection.

What came next

A later revision can receive a new receipt and link back to the file it superseded. The earlier design does not disappear.

Private work. Publicly checkable handoff.

If the drawing matters, the handoff should not depend on memory.

Checking is free for anyone. A design office can start with one project, one file set, and the systems it already uses.

The records on this page are demonstration records and intentionally store short text descriptions alongside fingerprints. Customer records can store fingerprints only.

Hive establishes the integrity of the signed record. It does not establish design authorship, engineering correctness, permission, or independent source truth by itself.

The live service retains the signed record. Anyone who saves an earlier witness log root can detect if the logged history later moves underneath it, for as long as the service runs.
