BOTH CARS RETIRED WITH OVERHEATING BRAKES.
Cadillac's official race report described both retirements.
Official Austrian report ↗HIVE × CADILLAC FORMULA 1 TEAM
Hive can preserve a signed development memory across selected car states, so an authorized engineer can compare what changed, what stayed the same and what evidence surrounds each change.

PUBLIC CADILLAC CONTEXT
This public sequence establishes context for the synthetic comparison below. Hive does not diagnose the issue. It only preserves selected evidence that can make later comparison easier.

Suspension + tire strategy
PUBLICLY REPORTED: A suspension failure ended Pérez's race. Pérez said “we got it wrong” by starting on intermediates while also calling the decision “50-50.”
Official Canadian report ↗Brake temperature
PUBLICLY REPORTED: Both cars retired with overheating brakes.
Official Austrian report ↗Rear suspension
PUBLICLY REPORTED: Pérez retired with a rear inboard suspension failure.
Official Belgian report ↗Hydraulics + rear wing
PUBLICLY REPORTED: Bottas had a hydraulic issue affecting the rear wing. Pérez had experienced the same issue earlier in the weekend.
Official Dutch report ↗Water system + Power Unit
PUBLICLY REPORTED: The team reported a suspected water system issue. The team principal called it a Power Unit issue.

Plausible synthetic values show how selected evidence could be aligned for review. They do not describe the actual Cadillac cars.
Which recorded elements changed, which did not, and what evidence exists around each change?
Classification is hidden until you compare the recorded states.
The comparison is useful only if it makes development history easier to recover and examine.
WHY CADILLAC MIGHT CARE
Could an authorized engineer reconstruct and compare the selected development history without rebuilding it by hand?
When an issue appears again, reduce the effort required to assemble the agreed engineering history across multiple systems. Pilot question: can Hive materially reduce the time required to reconstruct the selected history?
Compare selected recorded states across cars, races, revisions, upgrades and supplier lots. The source systems remain authoritative. Hive creates the connective evidence history.
Race teams move quickly. People change roles. Components evolve. Decisions are revisited weeks or months later. Preserve what changed, when it changed and what later superseded it without depending entirely on email, screenshots or individual recollection.
Hive preserves selected evidence history. It does not replace the engineering systems or make the engineering judgment.
It is not a digital twin, telemetry, PLM or root-cause analysis. It is a persistent evidence history across selected changes, configurations, decisions and corrections.
Why it changed means the recorded rationale or reference supplied by an accepted source. Hive does not determine whether that rationale was correct.
Alter R7 to R6, then restore it. Verification supports the development memory but is not the main story.
Technical verification
Hive does not establish R7 was the right engineering choice; it establishes that R7 is what the accepted signed evidence record contains. Verification is supporting proof only.
The original stays visible. A later event can update the record without silently overwriting it.
ENGINEERING HISTORY CHANGES
Across race weekends, a revised observation can matter as much as the original state. Hive records that a correction was accepted and linked. It does not establish that the correction is true.

How Hive fits
Cadillac chooses a narrow event boundary. Accepted integrations send selected events. Authorized reviewers inspect signed, portable evidence.
Non-replacement: Engineering, PLM, CAD, simulation, suppliers, IFS, TWG AI, telemetry, race operations and maintenance remain authoritative and perform the work. Hive preserves selected evidence about the work.
Fail open: if Hive is unavailable, the underlying workflow continues. Hive receives only events an accepted integration sends. It does not automatically know every component, setup parameter or decision.
Cadillac chooses the domain. The pilot measures reconstruction and comparison without introducing an operational dependency.
Development memory pilot
Choose one recurring engineering domain and test whether Hive makes the selected development history easier to reconstruct and compare.

Can an authorized engineer reconstruct and compare the selected history using the recorded evidence, while the source systems remain authoritative and operations remain independent of Hive?
The pilot tests evidence reconstruction and comparison. It does not test vehicle performance.
Hive can establish: integrity of the signed object, recorded chronology, identifiers, source references, corrections, supersessions and the signer identified by the configured verification policy.
Hive does not establish by itself: source truth, engineering correctness, component quality, root cause, AI correctness, telemetry truth, safety, FIA compliance, predictive maintenance, diagnosis, fewer failures or DNFs, better reliability, faster laps, endorsement or independent witnessing.
Cadillac's engineering, race, supplier, AI and operational systems remain authoritative. Hive can preserve selected evidence across them so an authorized team can reconstruct what changed, compare states and see what later superseded the original record.
