Atticus — the legal agent.
Atticus is the legal-workflow surface in the Hive product line. Every output is a dual-signed, threshold-attested receipt designed to be verified by opposing counsel without trusting Hive. LOT-shielded by default.
What Atticus is
Atticus is the legal agent in the Hive product line. It wraps Hive's post-quantum receipt infrastructure around four legal workflows: intellectual-property prior-art, trademark attestation, work-of-authorship origin, and contract / discovery / corporate matters. Every output is a dual-signed, threshold-attested receipt that an opposing counsel, examiner, or judge can verify cryptographically without trusting Hive.
Atticus is built on the same Wave-Lattice 6-axis substrate as the rest of the platform. The signatures are ML-DSA-65 (NIST FIPS 204) plus Ed25519 (RFC 8032). Settlement is USDC on Base 8453.
The legal tool family
| Tool | What it does | MCP server |
|---|---|---|
| prove.prior | Prior-art attestation. Stamps an invention disclosure with a dual-signed receipt that establishes priority date with cryptographic finality. | hive-mcp-prior |
| prove.mark | Trademark attestation. Records first-use evidence with a court-admissible receipt envelope. | hive-mcp-mark |
| prove.origin | Work-of-authorship origin. Stamps source code, manuscripts, and creative works at the moment of authorship. | hive-mcp-origin |
| LEX-Contract | Contract attestation, redlines, and version history with chain-of-custody receipts. (Roadmap) | hive-mcp-lex-contract |
| LEX-Discovery | E-discovery chain-of-custody. Every document touch is a signed event in a tamper-evident log. (Roadmap) | hive-mcp-lex-discovery |
| LEX-Corporate | Board minutes, resolutions, and corporate filings with cryptographic finality. (Roadmap) | hive-mcp-lex-corporate |
Receipts as evidence
Every Atticus call returns a Hive receipt envelope. The envelope is dual-signed (Ed25519 for current production verifiers, ML-DSA-65 for post-quantum verifiers), threshold-attested by the Wave-Lattice 6-axis MAPET substrate, and settles to USDC on Base 8453. The receipt is structured so that any third party can verify it offline given only the public key bundle.
What this means for a legal proceeding: the priority date, first-use date, or chain-of-custody timeline that Atticus establishes is provable without putting Hive on the witness stand. The math does the testifying.
LOT-shielded by default
Hive Civilization, Inc. is a member of the LOT Network. That means every receipt issued through Atticus rides under a permanent shield against patent troll transfers from roughly 3,000+ LOT members — Google, Tesla, Ford, Cisco, and the rest. Atticus customers inherit that shield as a side effect of issuance.
Who uses it
- Solo inventors and small labs who need to establish priority before a patent attorney is even retained.
- In-house IP teams looking to convert internal disclosure decks into court-admissible cryptographic receipts.
- Outside counsel running e-discovery on AI-generated content where chain-of-custody is contested.
- Open-source maintainers stamping commits as work-of-authorship at the moment of push.

ERP-native field map
Atticus binds legal events to dual-signed receipts with metadata that survives e-discovery, contract review, and corporate governance audits without losing fidelity to the originating system of record. Every receipt envelope is portable across SAP Ariba CLM, Coupa Contract Lifecycle, DocuSign CLM, Ironclad, and Workday Strategic Sourcing.
