Signing every high-risk decision a nation makes costs less than a single mid-level salary. The alternative, reconstructing even a fraction of contested decisions after the fact, runs into the billions. The receipt costs far less than the dispute. Compliant by design
The EU AI Act requires high-risk AI systems to keep automatic records, or logs, that allow traceability over the system's lifetime. This is Article 12, Record-keeping. Italy implements this through Law 132/2025, which gives national effect to Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and is supervised nationally: Banca d'Italia, CONSOB, and IVASS for high-risk financial systems; ACN for market surveillance; AgID as notifying authority. A signed receipt per decision is the strongest possible form of that record: tamper-evident, independently verifiable, and durable into the post-quantum era.
